Some of you may remember the many years of resistance to inappropriate development efforts to the 19 acres of land located at the head of Whitehall Creek, between the MacDonalds and the community of Amberley, beside the stream leading into Whitehall Creek. A new attempt is being proposed by the Hogan Group, which bought the property last year for about $350K.
A public meeting is being held at the Broadneck Library on Thursday, August 28th, 7pm – 8:30pm. This meeting will present the initial plans.
It is important that we as a community show up to make sure our interests in any plan are accounted for, and that inappropriate development is recognized if it appears. The current plan is to subdivide the property into one residential lot by the creek and commercial development up by the road. Past attempts at this require asking for special exceptions to change the zoning that protects the watershed…
Please take the time to come to the library next Thursday evening to find out what is being planned and let your voice be heard if you think there are problems with it.
