An important meeting to discuss
transportation problems on the Broadneck Peninsula, is scheduled for Thursday, 2/11/16, at 7:30 PM at the Cape St. Claire Clubhouse (1223 River Bay Rd).
The meeting is for residents of the Broadneck Peninsula/Annapolis and Severna Park. This
Forum on Transportation is being held to focus on your traffic challenges on the Rte #2 and #50 corridors with a review of the recently introduced
Senate Bill 56 on the Bay Bridge future plans and requirements. This legislation will ensure approval of the mandatory Environmental Impact Study (EIS) to determine the location, funding and planning of a replacement Bay Bridge and approach roadways. This is not just a quality of life problem for Broadneck but a
serious public safety problem for all Rte #50 travelers. This Bill needs your support during the 2016 Legislature.
Time is short for your action.
The speakers are Senator Ed Reilly(D-33), Dave Humphreys, Chairman of ARTMA Committee, Dick Ladd, former (D-5) Councilman and other members of the Legislature.
A recent Life Cycle Cost Analysis (LCCA), presented by the Md Transportation Authority (MdTA) in January to the Bay Bridge Reconstruction Advisory Group (BBRAG), will also be reviewed. Two members of the BCC Board are on the BBRAG committee who represent the western shore of Maryland. We shall present the AA County Bay Bridge options determined in this Consultant’s Report as potential solutions for the new Bridge.
Please join us and members of the AA County Delegation for this important meeting. Our Legislators are supporting this Bill and request your attention and action on this legislation.
Call Pat Lynch at 410)757-3231 for questions.
Refreshments will be served.
