The Broadneck Council’s 1Q-2022 General Meeting on “Transportation on the Broadneck Peninsula” was recorded to provide our members the ability to review the meeting content and hear the news, observe the exchange of information from both our Government officials as well as our meeting attendees. The Broadneck Council meeting on Thursday 2/24, featured presentations by the State Highway Administration (SHA) and Anne Arundel County (AAC) addressing traffic issues on the Broadneck Peninsula.

Our speakers included:
Tim Smith, Chief Administrator for the MDOT/State Highway Administration
Chris Phipps, AAC Director of the Department of Public Works
Nestor Flores, AAC Senior Traffic Engineer
Sam Snead, AAC Director- Office of Transportation on Bike Safety/Pedestrian Improvements and Vision Zero: https://www.aacounty.org/services-and-programs/vision-zero
Lori Rhodes, Chief Deputy Admin Officer for AACo County Executive Steuart Pittman on the proposed Holly Beach Farm / Chesapeake Bay Foundation’s property under consideration as a National Park and a potential launch for ferry service.

2) BRIDGE TRAFFIC PROJECT PROPOSAL SURVEY / suggestions needed: Please complete and submit the ‘suggestion survey’ to provide your opinion on proposed ideas for traffic management on the Rt. 50 service roads near the Bay Bridge, or suggestions of your own.
