DESCRIPTION:BCC Community Meeting:\nAnne Arundel County “RULES OF THE COUNTY ROAD(s)”. \nJoin residents of the Broadneck Peninsula to attend an important meeting this Thursday night to hear about Anne Arundel County “RULES OF THE COUNTY ROAD(s)”. \nThursday June 22\, 2023 at 7:00pm\nCape St Claire Clubhouse\n1223 River Bay Rd\, Annapolis MD 21409 \nA panel of speakers from AA County Council\, AA County DPW\, OPZ\, and local community leaders will cover topics relevant to travel on this Peninsula. \nThe Whitehall Estate tourist expansion will be addressed along with local traffic concerns. \nThis program will include briefings on the status of AAC Broadneck Roads by our speakers with time allowed for Q&A’s at the end of the meeting. To note: the Bay Bridge traffic problems will not be a topic covered during this event but will be addressed in a future meeting with the MDTA Exec Dir who has responsibility for managing the 4 year NEPA 2 Bay Bridge study re: requirements for the construction of a 3rd Bay Bridge span. Three members of the Broadneck Council sit on the Bay Bridge Reconstruction Advisory Group (BBRAG) representing the Broadneck Peninsula residents. The guest speaker for this event is our Congressman John Sarbanes\, who will cover issues of concern to this geography with particular emphasis on the potential for a Chesapeake National Recreation Area (CNRA) at the Whitehall Mansion on the Bay at Whitehall Rd. Senator Van Hollen and Congressman Sarbanes have drafted legislation to name Whitehall as the CNRA flagship site under the National Park Services. SUMMARY:Survey and Metered Traffic Test – The Results!
DESCRIPTION:The online survey and Oceanic Drive Ramp metered traffic test results will be presented on October 12th (7PM) at a BCC/State Highway Administration follow-up meeting in the Cape St. Claire Clubhouse\, 1223 River Bay Rd.  \n\n\n\nKim Trans\, the District #5 Engineer\, will be the SHA speaker for the night\, to present the study results. The metered traffic light pilot on the Oceanic Drive ramp operating during the first two weekends in August\, resulted in slowing down vehicles who jumped off of Rt #50/301 onto the service roads to avoid highway traffic. The traffic at east-bound Exit #32 on ramp was controlled by a temporary traffic light that managed the of all vehicles onto Rt #50 east.
