BCC Friends – Fill Out the US Census Today!

Here is a message from your District 33 MD House representative Heather Bagnall. If you have not completed the US Census online, please do it today. It is quick and easy. We lose federal support money for every person who does not completed this important civic duty:

Although our district has been doing an excellent job on the census amidst this crisis, the Federal Census Bureau has decided to end the national count NOT on October 31, as originally announced but September 30, leaving us with less than six weeks to get from 70-100%. We lose $1800 per person or $18,000 over ten years for every person not counted. These lost dollars represent resources such as schools, hospitals, law enforcement, and even your representation in local, state, and federal government.

During the 2010 Census AACo Household participation rate was 78% (only 5% of which came from Census takers), resulting in a loss of $43M in Federal funds due to the undercount.

In District 33 though we’re above the county average, across the county we are below the 78% from 2010 so I need your help.

I’m asking not only that you fill out the Census if you haven’t yet, but that you SHARE THE CENSUS WITH EVERY GROUP, ON EVERY PLATFORM, AND WITH EVERY PERSON.

It’s important, easy and safe. Together we can ensure everyone is counted and we get 100%!
