BCC News & Leadership Renewal

SPRING NEWSLETTER- ONLY THE IMPORTANT STUFF!

ROAD REPAIRS
A Section of St. Margaret’s Road will be closed from Friday night midnight on 4/8 through 5:00 AM on Monday morning 4/11. I am waiting for final confirmation from the SHA on Monday morning. There is a serious pipe break near the Meadows that will require repair action. The area between the Balt-Annapolis Blvd and Bay Dale Drive are the only sections affected. Traffic will be directed to Rt.50 during this repair action.

BAY BRIDGE FUTURE
Members of the Broadneck Council Board—(P. Lynch and B. Nevel) have teamed up with Dick Ladd, former Councilman for D-5 and Dave Humphreys, Exec Director for ARTMA, to support SB-056 which will approve funding for the Environmental Impact Study (EIS) required for any planning/construction work to determine the location of the new Bridge span. We have testified at the House Environment and Transportation Committee hearing yesterday and are hoping for a favorable vote. The cost of the study (est. $25M) and the prospective budget challenge for the Bridge construction (est. at $1.5-$5.0B) is under consideration. The Bill passed by a wide margin..(first time!) in the Senate and the House is reviewing this week.
