Cleaning up the Mess
ZONING
As a member of Growth Action Network-(GAN),– an AA County-wide overlay organization– that includes member associations such as the BCC and APC, we work with our colleagues to focus on zoning issues that are brought to us by our membership. In working on several zoning cases over the past years, we have determined that sections of the County Code must be updated, amended and revised.
A Code Review Committee (CRC) has been formed with ten members who represent South, East and Central AA County who are working on key sections of the Code that have adversely affected our properties. We have ten cases under review for policy and law modifications and have met with the Director of Planning and Zoning to initiate a process of review and approval through the new County Administration. We have expectations that they will sponsor some of the recommended changes as new legislation to be introduced to the County Council. This will be an ongoing and challenging initiative as we work our way through County offices.
