SMALL AREA PLANS

Dick Ladd, District #5 Councilman in 2010-2014, has advised us on many issues facing the Broadneck and Severna Park areas related to land use and zoning. The next Comprehensive Rezoning/GDP process, which through the use of the Small Area Plans (SAP) as the basis for rezoning determinations, will be developed with fewer SAP’s. There may be one for each of the seven Councilmatic Districts or a max of four representing the AA County quadrants. Dick expects that the Broadneck (includes Arnold) and Severna Park will be merged into one SAP and recommends that we work together to have a “soundly based vision”, improve coordination, communications and understanding of common issues/values with plans to merge common interests in support of the anticipated new GDP structure.
