Report on Deer Management at Sandy Point

The Corcoran Tract archery deer season was very successful in 2019, and will continue this year from 9/11/20 – 1/30/21. In 2019, in 31 hunting days, 24 deer were harvested. The use rate of the area was 95.7%. We are hoping to manage the deer population with continuing the hunt this year, and with a slight expansion of the area available for bow hunting. This expansion area is the wooded tract on the parking lot side of Tydings Road, approximately 50 acres, which would allow for 2 more hunters per day (8 total per day for the whole Corcoran / expansion area). This new area will be open for archery deer hunting 10/16/20 – 1/30/21.
