With the strong interest in the future of the Whitehall Manor historic property on Whitehall Rd, under discussion by organizations on the Broadneck Peninsula, there is a need for a briefing on this important subject. The owner of the Whitehall Estate–Charlie Scarlett/President of the family’s Brandywine Foundation, and Wendy O’Sullivan, Superintendent of the National Park Service Chesapeake Gateways office, present the process to date on the possible future of Whitehall Manor.

The Meeting was held via Zoom, on July 20th, 2023 with 88 people in attendance.

Does your access strategy include access via trail for people walking, biking and rolling? – NOT YET.  TO BE DETERMINED.  GOOD SUGGESTION.

Will this shoreline stabilization be a living shoreline or rip rap?  – OUR GRANT PROPOSAL IS FOR A LIVING SHORELINE.

Where is the proposed the ferry dock area.  – WHITEHALL CREEK AT THE END OF THE HOLLY WALK.  A MAP IS IN THE VOLPE REPORT.

I did not know about any previous meetings you have had outside of BCC’s meeting in April in the Cape.  And, this impacts more than ‘just’ those on Whitehall Road, respectfully. – I UNDERSTAND, ANN, AND APPRECIATE YOUR REQUEST.  UNFORTUNATEY, I DO NOT ORGANIZE THESE MEETINGS.  I AM JUST AN INVITED PARTICIPANT.
